Rakuful Co., Ltd. ("we" or "us") handles the personal information of customers of our online store KIDSpo (the "Site") in accordance with the Japanese Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other laws, as described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information we collect

We collect the following information when you use the Site.

  • Your name, address, phone number and email address, which you enter when you place an order, create an account, contact us or sign up for our newsletter
  • Your order details, delivery address and purchase history
  • Payment information (payments are processed by payment providers, and we do not keep credit card numbers)
  • Information needed for customs clearance of international shipments (such as your CPF taxpayer number for deliveries to Brazil)
  • The content of your inquiries and reviews (the name, text and images in a review you post are published on the Site)
  • Information about how you browse and use the Site (cookies, advertising identifiers, IP address, device and browser information, and browsing and purchase history)

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes.

  • To accept orders, ship products, process payments, and handle returns, exchanges and other after-sales service
  • To clear customs for international shipments and to prepay import duties for shipments to the United States
  • To answer your orders and inquiries and to contact you
  • To provide account services (such as viewing your order history)
  • To tell you about new products and promotions (such as our newsletter, which we send only if you sign up; you can unsubscribe at any time)
  • To analyze how the Site is used, improve our services, and deliver and measure advertising
  • To prevent fraudulent orders and use, and to respond to violations of our Terms of Service
  • To comply with the law

We keep personal information for as long as needed for these purposes and for the periods required by law (such as accounting records), and then delete it appropriately.

3. Sharing with third parties

We do not share your personal data with third parties without your prior consent, except in the following cases.

  • When required by law
  • When it is necessary to protect a person's life, body or property and it is difficult to obtain your consent
  • When it is especially necessary to improve public health or to promote the healthy development of children and it is difficult to obtain your consent
  • When it is necessary to cooperate with a national or local government body carrying out duties prescribed by law, and asking for your consent could interfere with those duties
  • When we entrust the handling of personal data to service providers (section 4)

If you order a delivery outside Japan, we provide your name, address, phone number, and the description and value of the items to the customs authorities and postal operators of the destination country or region for customs clearance.

4. Service providers

We entrust the handling of personal data to the following service providers to the extent necessary for the purposes above, and supervise them as necessary and appropriate.

  • Online store platform: Shopify
  • Payments: the providers of credit card payments, Amazon Pay, PayPay, Paidy and convenience store payments
  • Delivery: Yamato Transport and Japan Post
  • Prepayment of US import duties: Zonos
  • Review requests and display: Opinew

5. Transfers to third parties outside Japan

We provide personal data (including by entrustment) to the following businesses outside Japan.

  • Shopify Inc. and its group companies (Canada, the United States and other countries): store and process your information as our online store platform (section 6)
  • Google LLC (United States) and Meta Platforms, Inc. (United States): website analytics, and delivering and measuring advertising (section 8)
  • iGlobal Exports, LLC (Zonos; United States): prepayment of US import duties
  • Opinew (United Kingdom): sending review request emails and displaying reviews
  • Customs authorities and postal operators of the destination country or region: customs clearance of international shipments

Information on the personal information protection systems of these countries is available from the Personal Information Protection Commission of Japan (in Japanese). Each business takes measures to protect personal information under its own privacy policy and terms.

6. How Shopify handles your personal information

The Site is operated using Shopify's services. Shopify processes your personal information when you browse or use the Site and when you make a purchase.

We use Shopify features that incorporate data from your interactions with the Site, other merchants' stores and Shopify (Shopify Network Intelligence), such as improving stores and products, preventing fraud, and delivering advertising. For these features, your information is shared with Shopify and with third parties that may be located outside your country of residence. When Shopify uses your personal information for these purposes, Shopify is responsible for that processing.

You can exercise your rights regarding data processed by Shopify (such as withdrawing consent or objecting to processing) through the Shopify Privacy Portal. If you live in certain US states, you can opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information for targeted advertising on our data sharing opt-out page.

7. Security measures

We take the following measures to prevent the leakage, loss or damage of personal data.

  • Basic policy: We have established this Privacy Policy to handle personal data properly.
  • Organizational measures: We appoint a person responsible for handling personal data and check how it is handled.
  • Human measures: We limit the employees who handle personal data and train them.
  • Physical measures: We control the areas where personal data is handled and prevent the theft or loss of devices and documents.
  • Technical measures: We encrypt communications (SSL/TLS), limit access to the store admin to authorized staff, and use two-step authentication.
  • Understanding the external environment: When providing personal data to businesses in the countries listed in section 5, we take security measures based on an understanding of those countries' personal information protection systems.

8. Cookies, analytics and advertising

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies (such as pixel tags) to record browsing and purchase activity. This information is sent to the following services.

  • Shopify: operating the store and analyzing how it is used (including the features described in section 6)
  • Google Analytics (Google LLC): website analytics
  • Google Ads and Google Merchant Center (Google LLC): delivering and measuring advertising
  • Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc.): delivering and measuring advertising on Facebook and Instagram

To measure the effectiveness of our advertising, we may send the email address, phone number and similar information from your order to Google and Meta after converting it into a form that cannot be reversed (hashing). These companies handle the information under their own privacy policies.

If you live in the EU, the UK or certain other regions, we ask for your consent to non-essential cookies (such as analytics and advertising) through a cookie banner.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings (some features of the Site may not work). You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, and turn off personalized ads in the ad settings of Google and Meta.

9. Requests for disclosure, correction and more

You may ask us to notify you of the purposes for which we use your personal data, to disclose it (including records of its provision to third parties), to correct, add to or delete it, to stop using or erase it, or to stop providing it to third parties. Please contact us as described in section 12. After confirming that you are the person concerned (or an authorized representative), we will respond without delay in accordance with the law.

10. Customers outside Japan

We handle personal information in accordance with Japanese law. If the laws of your country or region (such as the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)) give you rights to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, or to data portability, please contact us as described in section 12. You may also lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in your country or region.

We process personal data on the basis of performing our contract with you (such as your order), our legal obligations, our legitimate interests (preventing fraud and improving our services), or your consent.

11. Minors

If you are a minor, please use the Site with the consent of a parent or guardian.

13. Changes to this policy
