Nittaku Blastac Rubber

An inverted rubber for stability and attack that makes it easier to hit the trajectory you have in mind

Blastac is an inverted rubber (a rubber with a flat surface that makes it easy to put spin on the ball) that combines a topsheet with a noticeable sense of dwell (how long the ball stays in contact) and a softer carbon-black sponge. It reduces inconsistency in the shot while keeping rebound, and suits players who want to attack from a foundation of stability.

Features

• Sponge hardness is 35.0, which the manufacturer describes as relatively soft
• Carbon-black reinforcement helps keep the rebound from dropping while retaining the softness
• The sponge returns quickly after impact, a design that combines dwell and rebound
• On Nittaku's own ratings, speed is 15.00 and spin is 12.00. Category is AC (Active Charge)
• Two thicknesses, Thick and Extra thick, and two colors, red and black, are available

Recommended for

• Players who want to hit steadily along the trajectory they aim for
• Players who want to improve the precision of their technique while identifying the causes of their mistakes
• Players who want to attack with hard hits while keeping a sense of stability

Pros and things to consider

Pros

• Little inconsistency in the shot, making it easier to produce the trajectory you aim for
• Keeps its rebound even though it is on the soft side, so it copes with hard hits too

Things to consider

• The sponge is relatively soft, which may not suit players who prefer a hard sponge
• Only two thicknesses, Thick and Extra thick, are offered; Medium cannot be chosen
