Nittaku Genextion Inverted Rubber

A tension-type rubber that uses its firmness for heavy, deep-attacking drives

A German-made inverted rubber of the tension type (a type in which tension is applied to the rubber to raise its rebound). Its firmness lets you aim for the heavy drives characteristic of a firm rubber, and for the strength not to be overpowered in exchanges. It has also been designed with short-game stability and ease of handling in blocks in mind, which suits players who build their game around attack.

Features

• A tension-type rubber with Speed 16.50 and Spin 13.50 on Nittaku's own ratings
• Sponge hardness is 42.5 as stated by the manufacturer (52.5 on the German standard)
• It uses a dual topsheet. The pips are on the short side, a shape midway between German and Chinese styles
• According to the manufacturer, the dual sponge improves energy efficiency by about 11% over its previous sponge
• Made in Germany. It is a rubber that carries an ITTF (International Table Tennis Federation) approval number

Recommended for

• Players who want to hit heavy drives with a firm rubber
• Players who want to push opponents back with drives to deep placements
• Players who want both the rebound and the stability of a tension-type rubber

Pros and things to consider

Pros

• A firm sponge, designed to make heavy drives easier to hit
• The arc rises after impact, so you can aim for balls that carry deep
• Even with its high hardness, the hitting feel is said to be soft and easy to control

Things to consider

• As a rubber with high hardness, it may be hard to handle for players who have just started
• Only two thicknesses, Thick and Extra thick, are offered; thinner ones cannot be chosen
• Sold as a single sheet of rubber. To put rubber on both sides, please prepare two sheets
