Nittaku Royalcrown Large Ball Rubber

A Large Ball rubber that combines stability in the short game with powerful drives

Royalcrown is a rubber for Large Ball (table tennis played with a larger ball). Its slightly small pips help keep the short game (short balls handled over the table) stable, and its soft topsheet lets you aim for powerful drives with spin as well, making it a model aimed at advanced players.

Features

• The slightly small pips spring back quickly after they bend, which contributes to good dwell
• Even when handling short balls over the table, which tend to float, it is designed to catch the ball as if wrapping it, making it easier to keep stable
• The soft topsheet grips the ball so spin is easy to apply, and shots tend to follow a rising trajectory
• On Nittaku's own ratings, speed is 16.25, spin is 15.75 and sponge hardness is 22.5
• Category is AC (Active Charge); the pip arrangement (the direction in which the pips line up) is vertical

Recommended for

• Large Ball players who want to handle the short game steadily
• Players who want to attack with powerful drives with spin
• Experienced players who want both speed and spin

Pros and things to consider

Pros

• Less likely to float over the table, making it easier to handle short balls steadily
• The trajectory tends to rise after impact, making it easier to meet the ball solidly on drives
