A large-cell sponge and a high-tension topsheet, built to pursue power

Rakza XX is a Hybrid Energy-type inverted rubber (a rubber with a flat surface that makes it easy to put spin on the ball) from Yasaka. It pairs a sponge that lets the ball sink in easily even though it is firm with a topsheet under strong tension. It is a model for advanced players who want both spin and speed.

Features

  • The sponge has larger cells so that it deforms more easily, which lets the ball sink in even though it is firm.
  • The topsheet is put under strong tension to increase its grip.
  • Within the Rakza series, it is a model that emphasizes attacking power.
  • On Yasaka's own rating scale (Mark V = 10), Speed is 12-, Spin is 13+, and Control is 9-. The hardness is 47-52°.
  • The country of production is Germany. You can choose from two thicknesses and two colors.

Recommended for

  • Advanced players who want to hit powerful balls in rallies
  • Players who want to choose a rubber with an emphasis on both spin and speed

Pros and things to consider

Pros

  • On Yasaka's ratings, Speed 12- and Spin 13+ are on the high side for attacking play.
  • Even with a firm sponge, the ball sinks in, making it easier to produce powerful shots.

Things to consider

  • The Control rating is 9-, so it may feel difficult for players who put ease of handling first.
  • Only two thicknesses, Thick and Extra thick, are offered, with no Medium-thick.
  • The racket and glue are sold separately (this is a single rubber).
