A tacky topsheet and a firmer sponge, combining spin with rebound

Rakza Z is a Hybrid Energy-type inverted rubber (a rubber with a flat surface that makes it easy to put spin on the ball) from Yasaka. It pairs a newly developed tacky topsheet with a firmer sponge. The model is designed to make spin easy to apply while also offering rebound that holds up in rallies.

Features

  • The topsheet is a newly developed tacky sheet, a surface that makes spin easy to apply.
  • Paired with a firmer sponge, it keeps its rebound even though the topsheet is tacky.
  • On Yasaka's own rating scale (Mark V = 10), Speed is 11-, Spin is 14+, and Control is 9.
  • The manufacturer's published hardness is 47-52°. The country of production is Germany, and you can choose from two thicknesses and two colors.

Recommended for

  • Players who want to attack by making use of the spin of a tacky rubber
  • Players who want power in rallies as well as spin
  • Intermediate and advanced players who can swing fully through a firmer rubber

Pros and things to consider

Pros

  • On Yasaka's ratings, spin is set on the high side at 14+.
  • A firmer sponge is paired with the tacky topsheet to give it rebound as well.

Things to consider

  • The Control rating is 9, so it may feel difficult for players who put ease of handling first.
  • Only two thicknesses, Thick and Extra thick, are offered, with no Medium-thick.
  • The racket and glue are sold separately (this is a single rubber).
