For players who want strong spin and power, with a tacky sheet and a firm sponge

An inverted rubber (a rubber with a flat surface that makes it easy to put spin on the ball) with a tacky sheet (a sheet whose surface is sticky, making it easy to grip the ball) and a firm tension-type sponge. It suits players who want to make spin their weapon, whether on serves and short play over the table or on powerful drives.

Features

  • The sponge is a firm tension-type (a type with tension applied to raise its bounce), with a hardness of 47–52° (as published by Yasaka).
  • The tacky sheet is designed with an emphasis on catching the ball and putting spin on it.
  • On Yasaka's own rating scale (Mark V = 10): Spin 14-, Speed 10, Control 9+.
  • Made in China, with a choice of three thicknesses: Medium, Thick and Extra thick.

Recommended for

  • Players who want to use the spin of a tacky rubber on serves and in short play over the table
  • Players whose main style is driving who want to hit powerful drives with a firm rubber

Pros and things to consider

Pros

  • Spin is 14- (Yasaka's own rating), well above the Mark V baseline (10).
  • While emphasizing spin, it also copes with situations where you want power on hard hits.

Things to consider

  • The sponge is firm, at 47–52° (as published by Yasaka). Players used to soft rubbers should take note.
  • Control is 9+ (Yasaka's own rating), slightly below the Mark V baseline (10).
