An anti rubber with a low-elasticity sponge that can also defend like long pips

An anti rubber (a rubber that is little affected by the opponent's spin) with a low-elasticity sponge. Its feature is that, in addition to returning with knuckle balls, it makes chop-like blocks and pushes, as with long pips, easy. It suits players who want to build their game on defense and play with variation.

Features

  • On Yasaka's ratings, Speed is 3, Spin is 3- and Control is 11
  • Hardness is 35-40° according to Yasaka's published figure. A low-elasticity sponge with restrained rebound
  • Besides knuckle returns, it can be used for chop-like blocks and pushes
  • A Japanese-made rubber with a choice of two thicknesses, Medium and Extra thick

Recommended for

  • Players who want to play with variation, with defense as the base
  • Players who want to use an anti rubber in a long-pips-like way

Pros and things to consider

Pros

  • The low-elasticity sponge makes blocks and pushes easy
  • It can be used in a way close to long pips, widening your defensive variation
  • Control is 11, above the Mark V baseline

Things to consider

  • Speed is 3, so it is not well suited to attacking on your own initiative
  • Only two thicknesses, Medium and Extra thick, are offered; thinner ones cannot be chosen
  • Because of its distinctive character, it may take practice to master
